I miss him at night
I picture myself by his side
We would make a beautiful pair
The two of us sitting together
Close, by the fireside
Looking at the flames and sparks
Cuddling up and smiling
Happily holding hands and kissing
Each of us dreaming
Of mornings to come - together
I think we would be just happy
Relaxed and perfectly at ease
An old married couple
Enjoying winter as summer
As long as we could be together
And should he die
Or should I
I know inside
That the other would follow
Together in death as in life
We would make such a lovely couple
If only he would realize
That his future lies open
Right here by my side
I miss him at night
