Watchtower
My
first towers was made from milkcartons and are still in use. We get 1 litre
cardboard milkbottles (reinforced with some kind of plastic coating inside).
Materials:
Cardboard milkbottle
or similar box of about 3" by 3" by 6".
Kebab skewer, balsastick
or similar
Thick card (for
the floors and the ladders)
Carmesh, flynet
or fabric
Black spraypaint
Other
colors for the graffiti.
How
to ...
- Cut out the
"windows". I've left about 1/4" in each side. I've also kept about 1"
at the site of the floors.
- Strengthen the
corners of the tower by gluing a kebab skewer or a balsa stick (approximately
1/4 inch thick) in each of them.
- Using thick
cardboard, make floors. The tower will be limited by the size of the milkcarton.
Since the milkcarton is approximately 6 inches, I had 2 floors to mine.
- Using fabric
or fly-net or carmesh (any mesh that has a suitable size), cover 2 or 3 of
the holes from the inside. Or glue on lollipopsticks/iciclesticks across the
openings. It will provide cover and give the building greater strength.
- Create ladders
from thick cardboard or using sprues - or matches. Glue them on.
- Spraypaint black,
drybrush with silver or whatever other metallic color you like - and decorate
with graffitti, limited by your own skill and patience.
