The scavenger
hunt begins in the kitchen, both before and after dinner...
Kitchen
- Bamboo kebab skewers
- Card (pap in Danish)
from shoeboxes, cerealboxes and frozen food boxes (I can recommend pizzaboxes
;-))
- Pasta (wheels and other
shapes)
- Spaghetti
- Just about any empty
container (can, bottle, jar etcetera) which can be made clean and odorless
- Plasticard from Coca-colabottles
(the "straight" part of a 2 liter bottle can be cut up and used.
Requires putting it under pressure for a while to take away the curve)
- Toothpicks
- Lids of all sizes -
primarily from bottles
- Straws (mainly two types:
flexible and straight)
- Lentels, green/yellow
split peas
- Tough Scourer (metal
spring)
- Empty spiceglasses (for
storage or mixing paints)
- Empty glas containers
(for storing bits and pieces)
- Lollipopsticks
Bathroom
- The plastic part of
cotton swaps.
- The roll from a kitchen/toiletroll
- Toothpastelids
Livingroom
- Cardboard from cardboardboxes
(of course)
- Expanded polystyrene
from the protection around TV, Stereo, Computer etcetera.
- Telephonecord (costs
about 0,29£ per meter in Woody's DIY)
- Flynet
- Matches (cut of the
burned part, unless you are going for a specific effect)
Childrens
rooms (or yardsale of old toys
)
- Pearls in different
sizes
- Toy cars
- Broken toys
- Broken crayons
Sewing
room/Hobby room
- "Poppers"
or pressstuds
- Computerparts and other
electronic junk
- Hardboard
- Fabric (net-like or
gaze)
- Threadwinder for sewing
machine (storebought)
- Pins; two types: one
with large heads and one metallic (dressmakers pins)
- Empty film containers
(for mixing paints)
Pets
Outside
- Pieces of wood (real
tree bits - picked them up while out on a walk)
Storebought
- Balsa wood (artstores
usually have this - buy 1/4 inch sheets and cut the sticks you need. Can be
expensive...)
- Foamcore (found in artstores
or picture framing shops; expensive but good)
- Maskingtape aka gummied
paper (buy it at a car repair shop - that is the cheapest source I have found)
- Glue (the cheapest source
of PVA glue I have found is an art and hobby shop - go for a large container,
you will need it)
- Car repair mesh (buy
it at a
car repair shop! Expensive, but you will usually not need that
much)
- Paint, brushes
