Cut
two strips of corrugated cardboard 2,25 inches wide and as long as you like
(preferably an even number of inches). One should be cut along the corrugations
and one across. If you have the kebab skewers, insert them in the corrugations
of the piece which is cut along the corrugations, about 3/4 of an inch from
the border of the bridge. Glue the two strips of corrugated cardboard together.
Place the one with the corrugations running lengthwise on top. Use clothespegs
to hold it together while it dries.
Cut 2 x 2 inches pieces of thin card - cut enough pieces to cover your bridge. Score the cardpieces across and fold them to create creases crossing in the centre. Glue the cardpieces on top of the corrugated cardboard pieces. If your bridge is an uneven number of inches long, then start by finding the middle of the corrugated cardboard and place one of the pieces absolutely in the middle - then place the other pieces starting from the first one. That way you'll get 1/2 an inch of uncovered bridge in the end and that will not ruin the look of the bridge at all. Again, use clothespegs and let dry. Glue lentels in the corners of each cardpiece.
Cut two strips of (thin?) cardboard about 1/2 cm wide and the length of your bridge. It should be wide enough to cover the sides of the bridge. If you want a protected walkway, you can make this strip wider, for instance 1 inch wide. If you like, then you can cut a pattern in the "railing". Glue the strips on the sides of the bridge, covering the corrugations of the lower corrugated cardboard piece.
Now - this is my Necromunda improvement of this bridge! - cut two small pieces of corrugated cardboard about 1 x 1 inch. Glue them under the bridge about 1/2 inch from the ends.
Cut two
pieces of (thick) card about 1½ inch long and 1 inch wide and glue them to the
two squares of corrugated cardboard, aligning them with the end of the bridge.
Using this system, you'll be able to fasten the bridge to cardbuildings just
like the regular Necromunda walkways.
Spraypaint the entire bridge black and drybrush it with gunbolt metal or silver. Decorate with chestnut wash and grafitti. The ridges on each cardboard pieces makes it easy to get a good result with the drybrushing - I am not that great with a paintbrush ;-) If you are including the railing, then this is a perfect place for grafitti - any ganger with a spraycan would love to show their slogans on a bridge! These walkways are easy and fast to make and look great.
