Cassys cross by the road as made by Bill, with Chris' lettering and the painting of a Deady Bear.

You will not be forgotten

We will remember how you touched the lives of others and made their day brighter.

I started to fill in the book the funeral home gave me. It was so inadequate, there just wasn't a way to put enough about you in it. So, I started a book of my own. It has the newspaper clippings, the memorial cards, every picture I could find of you, sympathy cards and letters.

Your Uncle David & Aunt Susan named a star after you. So that when I look up at the night sky, I'll know your love is shining down on me. Other relatives and friends sent plants so that we'll have a living reminder of you. People from the Internet have sent gifts for Adam. They've sent me books and music to help me grieve. They've sent donations for your funeral expenses, for me to live on until I can manage to go back to work and for your Living Tree.

It's going to be where your twin sisters were laid to rest. We're going to have a bench by your tree, so that people who need to, may rest there. There will be a plaque on or by the bench. It will tell people to not let death be in vain. It will say, help those in need and to do it in your memory. Or the memory of their loved ones.

When your Living Tree memorial is ready, we will have a ceremony to celebrate your life. We will remember how you touched the lives of others and made their day brighter. We will remember your goodness, caring and generosity.

At the scene of the accident that took you away from me, we have placed a cross. Bill made it for you. He sculpted the delicated edges and design by hand. Chris painted your name on it. He used Old English lettering. He remembered how you liked it. He added your birth date and the date God took you away. But he knew something was missing. He finally realized, it needed a green Deady Bear on it. But he couldn't find a picture of one. Tabbi was playing with one of the magazines you gave her. As she opened it, a picture fell out. It was that of a green Deady Bear you had cut out of another magazine. Your cross now has a green Deady Bear painted on it. We hope that when people drive by your cross, it will remind them to take just a minute to count their blessings.

Your legacy of love will now go on for all of eternity. I will make something good come from losing you. You will not have died and merely gone away. You aren't physically here to help others, so I'll do it for you. Others will do it for you. Your work will not stop. And you will not be forgotten.

I love you now and always, plus one day.
